Elizabeth Wente
GENERAL COUNSEL
SRC Holdings Corp.
Born and raised in Springfield, Elizabeth Wente was introduced to the SRC family of companies at a young age. However, she did not predict that her childhood connections would eventually come full circle in her career.
After graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, she earned her law degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she started her career in private practice.
In 2011, Elizabeth returned to Springfield with her husband, Scott, and joined Husch Blackwell LLP, where she specialized in labor and employment law. She also began working closely with SRC as outside counsel. In 2015, Elizabeth moved her practice to Spencer Fane LLP. She became a partner in 2017 and spent over ten years advising companies on preventive strategies, compliance, and employee training. She also continued fostering long-lasting relationships with SRC’s HR teams and general managers.
That foundation prepared her for her transition to join SRC in 2024, when she assumed the role of in-house counsel. For Elizabeth, the move wasn’t just about offering legal advice; it was also about influencing SRC’s strategic direction and future expansion.
Now, as General Counsel at SRC Holdings, Elizabeth is excited to continue to foster SRC’s culture of employee ownership and safeguard the legacy built by the company’s founders.
Outside of work, Elizabeth and her husband have two children—Leo and Ella Ann—whose busy schedules create daily logistical challenges, keeping family life lively. As someone who loves entertaining, Elizabeth continues her family’s New Orleans tradition by making crawfish étouffée every year at her parents’ Fat Tuesday celebration. When it comes to sports, she and her family are devoted Kansas City Chiefs fans.
