Springfield Remanufacturing Corp (also referred to as SRC Heavy Duty), one of 10 subsidiaries of SRC Holdings Corporation, received two 2019 Safety Excellence Awards from the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) at their annual conference on May 2, 2019.

“The Missouri Association of Manufacturers’ Safety Excellence Awards Program was developed to stimulate interest in accident prevention, maintain safe and healthful work environments, and to share best practice examples with fellow manufacturers. The goal of the program is to recognize manufacturing companies and individuals that are making a significant contribution to safety, health and/or environmental compliance,” stated Kim Inman, MAM CEO.

Jim Cody, EHS Manager, with SRC Heavy Duty is recognized as the Safety Professional of the Year for demonstrating the depth of safety, health, environmental leadership, management skills, and successful implementation of a clear, well-communicated safety strategy. Jim has been with SRC for 22 years.

SRC Heavy Duty’s East Facility (located at 4727 E Kearney) received the coveted Safety Manufacturing Company of the Year award for their outstanding safety, health and environmental program achievement and best practice standards. The east location primarily remanufacturers whole goods and most recently celebrated their major milestone of finishing their 1000th industrial air compressor for Sullair.

SRC Heavy Duty division is an approved OSHA Voluntary Protection Program workplace. Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. SRC management, labor and OSHA have established cooperative relationships and have implemented a comprehensive safety and health management system that encourages preventing injuries and illnesses through hazard prevention and control, worksite analysis, training and cooperation at every level in every department. SRC has proudly been the only manufacturer in the four state area (Region 7) to hold this title for 24 years.

The awards were presented yesterday morning at MAM’s 2019 Mid-America Safety, Health & Environmental Conference and Expo. CNH Industrial Reman, another SRC subsidiary, received an award for Salvage Operator, Jerry Freeman. Jerry received the Safety Champion of the Year award. This is in recognition of an individual who has gone above and beyond his/her scope of work to demonstrate a commitment to Safety culture.
